Yesterday night I was invited to go to the Red Wings game with my friend Rae. As we drove down town it was interesting to see how different Detroit is from Livonia. There were so many people walking on the streets begging for money, houses burnt down, windows broken, and how dirty the city was. I have been Down town Detroit before but not threw the part we drove through it was pretty bad, although I bet there is worse that I haven’t seen. Also before we went to the game we went out to eat, to a restaurant called the Beef Carver; I had never been before. The restaurant was different we were given trays and stood in line and told the workers behind the counter what we wanted to eat, it was really good.
After dinner we went right to the game, it was crazy trying to find a parking spot, and the guy who took your money where you parked spoke no English, it was funny. As we walked up to Joe Louis, we went through a bridge like building and then up this twisty walk way. There were a lot of people inside the arena; we walked around for what seemed like forever to get to our seat. We had 10th row seats almost right in back of the goal, it was really cool. All of the other Red wings games I have been to were not as good as seats, we could actually see their faces and hear them. During the game Rae and I got dipping dots ice cream it was really good(: but I couldn’t believe how much money it was for a little cup of ice cream, 5$! You could by a whole carton or ice cream for that price.
I really liked going to the game, I had forgotten what it was like, because I have not been in so long. I’m not a big sports person either and it was a good time, I guess because I have kind of been forced to like hockey because of my brother playing the sport. In the end the red wings ended up losing, they were down most of the game by one, and then at one point tied the game but then ended up losing 5 to 4.
